It’s a difficult time for many Australians right now, and if you’re in lockdown or affected by the most recent COVID-19 outbreaks, we hope you stay safe and look after yourselves and others.

Like many other local businesses, evee is dealing with unprecedented challenges and we thank you for your continued support and understanding during this time. We are closely following the advice of health authorities and updating our team and community on current advice as it comes to hand.

We’re aware that members of our community may have some questions and concerns about hiring an evee vehicle during this time, so please see below for information and FAQs.

If you’re a host

Ensure that your car’s interior is well sanitised. Pay particular attention to the frequently touched surfaces:

1. Touch screen, 2. Steering wheel, 3. Driving and indicator stalks, 4. Door handles, 5. Window openers, 6. Rear view mirror

Also consider the following steps when handing over the car:

  1. Make sure to wear gloves and face masks when you clean the vehicle and dispose of any used tissues or wipes as soon as possible
  2. Provide complimentary sanitising tissues, hand sanitiser and wipes where available to remain in the vehicle for renters and owners to use before and after rentals
  3. Make sure the vehicle’s touch screen is on “clean mode” before every handover
  4. Wash your hands before meeting with the renter
  5. Attempt to keep a distance of 1.5 metres between yourself and the renter where possible
  6. Wear a face mask when meeting the customer if it is mandatory in your area
  7. If you are feeling any COVID 19 symptoms (fever, dry cough, dizziness etc.) please do not hire out your vehicle and get tested straight away
  8. Consider doing a contactless handover by using the Tesla app and leaving the keycard in a nominated safe location

If you’re renting an evee vehicle

  1. Wash your hands before meeting with the host
  2. Wear a face mask when meeting the vehicle host if it’s mandatory in your area
  3. Make sure all frequently touched surfaces (mentioned above) are wiped over with sanitising tissues before returning the vehicle to the host
  4. Don’t leave any tissues or other rubbish in the car
  5. If you are feeling any COVID 19 symptoms (fever, dry cough, dizziness etc.) please do not hire an evee vehicle and get tested immediately

FAQs
